A 21-year-old Llanelli man has been sentenced to 10 weeks in prison having been found guilty of five offences including criminal damage to property and a vehicle, harassment and threatening behaviour towards his victims, which included two police officers, one of whom he assaulted.

Liam Andrew Jones of Clos Gelli, Llanelli appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (Sep 5) where he pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

The series of offences took place at property owned by the Gwalia Housing Association and when the defendant was being taken to Morriston Hospital accompanied by two police officers, PC 1069 Ricky Waddel and PC 21 Julia Heather. The court heard that an assault on PC Waddel took place at Morriston Hospital.

As well as the prison sentence Jones was ordered to pay £75 compensation, a victim surcharge of £115 and costs of £85.
